Interview of the poet

Since I've been getting at least 3-6 emails a month requesting interviews about my writing, my books, and other questions, I'll give you links to past interviews I've given:

My favorite interview is by Profesora Elisabetta Marino, from the University of Rome, Tor Vergata which I did in Italian for the academic cultural magazine El Ghibli. sulla scrittura dell io attraverso la poesia: un intervista a nick carbo: Here.

Here's an interview with Rommel, a kindly undergraduate at SFSU who had to do a big web project on a contemporary poet. It seems he forgot to use his spell check and grammar check before posting to the web. Here.

Almost forgot about this one from National Public Radio in their Intersections program of the Morning Edition show. You can download and hear the interview as well as see links to other resources. Here.

Here's a "Conversation" with me and the fab fiction writer M. Evelina Galang which was conducted by Rocio Davis for the Filipino American Literature issue of the academic journal MELUS. Here.

A nice interview with the famous Ivy Alvarez done in Dublin, Ireland for the Aussy lit mag CORDITE: Here.

Book Fair time!

The Miami Book Fair International is this weekend and lots of our literary friends are flying in to participate and read at the book fair. After teaching my favorite poetry class today I have to rush over to the Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale airport and pick up Lisa Glatt and her hubby David Hernandez who will be staying with us for the whole weekend. Later in the week Evelina Galang and I will read together at the book fair on sunday afternoon. We'll probably also see Jessica Hagedorn along the way because she's reading too on saturday.

In 1934 Germany woke up to find 97% of the population voted for the Nazis

"Why of course the people don't want war... That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."
